While in the north of England, I knew I had to visit the fabled Peak District. I was staying in Manchester with a friend, and considering the Peaks are only thirty minutes from Manchester, it’s an easy day trip.
The Peak District made me feel like I was inside of a Jane Austen novel. The Peaks are exactly how you picture England; verdant hills, quaint villages, sprawling estates.
My favorite stop in the Peaks was Chatsworth House, also known as Mr. Darcy’s House in the 2005 remake of Pride and Prejudice. Chatsworth House is an absolutely beautiful stately home, with acres of land and an opulent main house. While there, the guides let us play the 1893 Steinway – such a treat!
I wanted to share some photos from the trip to the Peak District. If you make it there, lmk if you see Mr. Darcy, mmkay?
